LYDIA CIRCLE
Lydia Circle is composed of women of all ages who have a compassion for others and who are not afraid to work hard! We are a close knit "family". We have projects throughout the year to help our church and community. Our planning sessions for these projects are on the first Thursday of each month. At each meeting we have a short devotion time, business (project planning) meeting, and a time of fellowship and refreshments.
Some of our projects include:
-- Supporting the Thornwell Children's Home in Clinton, South Carolina
-- Supplying needs to kids (shoes, Backpack Buddies, and money to get school supplies or whatever the kids may need) by working with the city and county school advocates.
-- Making gift bags for residents of Calhoun Health Care at Christmas.
-- Angel Tree gifts for children at Christmas. We usually have at least ten children from the city schools and ten from the county schools that we buy for with the help from the church.
-- If we see a need within the church or in our community, we try to help meet it.
All of these projects are made possible through our semi-annual Little Lambs Consignment Sale. We have a sale in the Spring and one in the Fall. Little Lambs is a weekend-long sale which allows community members to sell good quality baby and chidren's clothes, toys, and furniture, as well as getting to shop for great deals for themselves!! The consignors keep 70% of their profits. Lydia Circle keeps 30% to fund our various missions and projects. All of the things not picked up after the sale have been donated to several different places over the years. We have donated to the Calhoun City School Advocates; Orphan Aid in Liberia, Africa; the Calhoun Pregnancy Center; Rome Ministerial Association to begin a clothes closet in Rome.
Our Church members are God-sends!! They're always right there whenever we need help!
We would love to have you join us!
